1) How does the Auto Gear Shift work?
- The AGS technology in Maruti Suzuki Celerio has an intelligent shift control actuator that facilitates automatic operation of the clutch and shift operations for automatic gear shifts. The actuator and controller are combined and mounted directly in the transmission, unifying all the working components, thereby ensuring synchronised control over the shifting, clutch, and engine for smooth gear changes and the option to switch between manual and automatic driving modes.
2) Does the AGS work well in case of sudden acceleration?
- Yes. The AGS technology comes with a special Kickdown function, which activates based on the driver’s accelerator input. It lowers the gear automatically to provide better pickup.
3) How fuel-efficient is the Celerio AGS?
- The Celerio with AGS technology delivers impressive fuel efficiency of 26.68 km/l for Celerio VXI AGS and 26 km/l for Celerio ZXI/ZXI+ AGS. This is as certified by the Test Agency under rule 115 (G) of CMVR 1989.
